I Thought I Had a Brain Tumor The pain in my head was so extreme. I did not know what to do. I was 16 years old and had been to 3 medical doctors who couldn't find the cause and put me on meds. I was playing High School Football so my headaches were interfering with my school work and my ability to play as at my best. I was also suffering from lower back pain as many of my teammates were. It was when one of my teammates suffered a blow to his helmet and lost 80% of the strength to his arm that prompted our Coach to take 5 of us to his chiropractor to get examined. After getting Parental consent to take x-rays the Chiropractor explained that there were multiple misaligned vertebrae in my spine and he would adjust them back into alignment. I thought…what is cracking my back going to do? After all, I just finished telling him the pain was in my head. I had head pain in the past but it always went away. This time was different. The pain was so intense, I felt I had nothing to lose by letting him adjust me. It was the best thing I ever did! He adjusted my neck. Within a short period of time, the pain went away, I couldn’t believe it! He explained that every part of the body is controlled by the brain and nervous system and pain is the way the body tells us something is wrong. We then have two choices: either hide the pain with medication or fix the problem and usually the problem is a misaligned vertebra (bone in the spine). P.S. My teammate recovered full strength to his arm and my other 3 teammates achieved fantastic results. One Experience with Chiropractic Changed My Life Forever That one experience changed my life and two of my teammate's lives forever! We was so amazed that we needed to find out everything we could about Chiropractic. The three of us finally decided to become a Chiropractors and help others the way that I was helped. After completing Pre-Med, I applied to Palmer Chiropractic University in Davenport, Iowa. This is where Chiropractic started. I felt if I was going to learn Chiropractic, I needed to get my education from the source. Since graduating in 1988, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others regain their health naturally through Chiropractic Care. My Philosophy on Chiropractic Care Is: “The power that made the body, heals the body,” and it is easier to maintain wellness than to try to get your health back once it’s gone. Chiropractors help your body maintain wellness by keeping your nervous system in balance. My lifestyle includes motorcycle riding, running and working out which are very stressful to the spine, therefore, health and wellness are not only a priority but a personal necessity.
