Dr. Harrison
General Chiropractic
San Francisco, CA
Dr. Allen Harrison, D.C. Why I get out of bed in the morning? Every day I hear story after story from patients and parents explaining how Chiropractic care has changed their life and the immeasurable impact it has had on their entire family. Every day the results we see with Chiropractic amaze even me, and I make it my mission to show up every day dedicated to improving the health of as many families as possible. What led me to Chiropractic and NUCCA? Chiropractic discovered me all the way back in middle school. I have been under Chiropractic care on and off since I was about 12 years old due to various sports injuries. I always thought that being a Chiropractor would be an awesome career because my Chiropractor at the time was the Chiropractor for Guns n’ Roses and Bon Jovi, how cool is that! When I was in college I was involved in a car accident that left me with terrible sciatic pain down both of my legs. I sought out treatment with Chiropractors, PTs, MD’s and massage therapists, but there was no lasting relief from the pain and it was starting to interfere with my job as a personal trainer. Through a referral, I found myself in the office of a NUCCA Chiropractor in my college town. The NUCCA adjustment was so gentle that I did not believe the doctor had done anything. Two days later the sciatic pain that I had for months started to lessen in intensity and was completely gone within a week. I entered Chiropractic college about 3 months after my first NUCCA correction and have dedicated my Chiropractic career to the detection and correction of the upper cervical subluxation through NUCCA Chiropractic care. Education Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport, Iowa), 2006 Doctorate in Chiropractic West Virginia University, 2002 Bachelor of Science, Exercise Physiology (major), Aquatic Therapy (minor) Experience 2013 – Present – San Francisco, California I opened my private practice, The Balanced Atlas, in San Francisco’s Sunset district. 2007 – 2013 – Virginia Beach, Virginia Senior Associate doctor at Precision Spinal Care, where I trained and practiced with David Packer, D.C., a NUCCA Board Certified doctor. 2006 – 2007 – Bend, Oregon I enjoyed a wonderful 9-month residency in beautiful central Oregon at Holtby Chiropractic Center with a 30-year veteran of the NUCCA work, Ralph Holtby, D.C. NUCCA Experience I am in my final steps for full NUCCA Board Certification, an honor less than 40 NUCCA doctors have obtained since NUCCA was founded in 1966. NUCCA Board Certification is the most demanding and rigorous testing of a doctor’s adjusting and x-ray work within the field of Chiropractic. Through this process of x-ray film submission, my work is constantly checked and evaluated by other Certified NUCCA doctors to ensure that I exceed NUCCA Board standards. The NUCCA Certification process ensures our patients are guaranteed to receive a precise upper cervical NUCCA correction at every visit.

Dr. von Stade
Sports Chiropractic
San Francisco, CA
I'm Dr. Lance and I work with high-performers who are trying to manage a busy career, an active and athletic lifestyle, and life at home. As an athlete, I had injuries and didn’t understand why doctors would prescribe me medication and not actually address the underlying issue. I remember having to take ibuprofen daily before track practices in order to run. That disconnect planted a seed for me which later led to me wanting to understand the underlying mechanisms at play in my body and to acknowledge health from a holistic view. Even as a sports medicine professional at the Olympic level, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I got used to sacrificing my health in order to achieve professional goals and didn’t realize how the imbalance of stress was limiting my ability to enjoy the life I was building. I ignored the obvious signs of this imbalance like headaches, tension in my low back, neck, and shoulders, or waking up exhausted even after full nights of sleep. I thought it would get better if I just worked harder to create more space for myself. Sound familiar? This is what makes me so passionate about working with high-performing people. You’re trying to manage a busy career, an active lifestyle, and still show up at home while you're too fatigued to exercise, and even too tired to sleep. WHAT?! I KNOW! I want to work with you to show you that your body is intelligent and adaptive, not broken. Your body is powerful beyond all measure but harmful thoughts, traumas, and toxins diminish the connection between your body and mind. Cumulative stressors from all aspects of life add up and overwhelm us. This overwhelm decreases our capacity to feel emotionally and robs us of the energy we need to show up in life like we know we can. We’ll work together to once again establish a strong connection between your mind and your body. You’ll rediscover your body, heal yourself physically and emotionally, and reconnect to your life’s purpose.
