While participating in varied sports from Football, Hockey, Archery, Golf, Tennis, and many others, it was as a Track & Field Sprinter where he excelled and competed at a Collegiate Level. Amid the stresses of competing at such an elite level, injuries were bound to happen, and Dr. Walter experienced several. When he did seek care for these injuries, he found Chiropractic to be the most effective method to help him get back to peak athletic performance quickly. This fueled his passion for this healing art, and to help athletes and people in all walks-of-life to achieve a healthy wellbeing. Dr. Walter earned his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University, then completed his doctorate degree from SOUTHERN CALifornia University of Health Sciences. While attaining his chiropractic degree at SCUHS he partook in associations that would help him acquire skills for practice. The Sports Injury Council of SOUTHERN CAL and The Graston Technique, just to name a few, set him on the path to utilize revolutionary treatments such as Low-Level Laser and percussion therapies. Today Dr. Walter is associated with the American College of Sports Medicine. He incorporates many modalities of therapy to help heal people. He is a certified Rock Doc with RockTape Kinesio Taping, a Theragun high-speed percussion therapy Specialist, and skilled utilizing Laser therapies with the latest advancements through Erchonia Laser Devices. Dr. Elliott is a native San Diegan who graduated from Torrey Pines High School in the 1980s. Dr. Elliott graduated Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) with a BS degree in Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic (cum laude and dean’s list). After receiving his license in 1991, Dr. Elliott opened Performance Chiropractic Center (aka Advanced Spine and Joint Care) in Vista, CA in 1992 and then Spine Decompression Center – the Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression side of the clinic in 2006. Dr. Elliott has attended postgraduate education that produced certificates of achievement in X-ray diagnosis and interpretation; Receptor-Tonus Method (NIMMO deep tissue/myofascial release technique); achieved the status of Qualified Medical Evaluator and an Industrial Disability Evaluator for the state of California (2001-2007), is one of the only Kennedy trained and certified Spinal Decompression Therapy Practitioners in San Diego county; and qualified as a Level 1 Rehabilitation facility in 1997 by the Chiropractic Rehabilitation Association and the American College of Rehabilitation Science. Outside of the practice Dr. Elliott enjoys golfing, surfing, and fishing with his son. He also enjoys wake boarding where he was seen on the front page of the local section of the North County Times on his birthday. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton where he competed as an NCAA Division I wrestler. He then pursued his Doctorate in Chiropractic from the Southern California University of Health Sciences. For more than 20 years he has used his training as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner to assist a variety of community sports organizations including Rancho Buena Vista, Vista, and Oceanside high schools, as well as Vista and Oceanside Pop Warner football. Dr. Cottrell later achieved the highest sports injury certification within the chiropractic field as a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sport Physician's (DACBSP).
